Racism remains a touchy subject in America, but it’s an issue that needs to be addressed. Last night, Nas appeared via satellite during  Anderson Cooper’s round table discussion on CNN special, Race and Justice In America II.

The Queensbridge rapper was brought in to share his views on those who don’t understand why Black people still cite slavery as a contributing factor to the embedded racial biases in the United States.

“It’s guilt. It’s ignorance,” Nas said. “People, we tend to judge each other. If I don’t know something about you, Anderson, I’m going to judge you based on a bad experience I had with another white person.”

On the flip side, the Grammy nominee also acknowledge how a white person could feel if the roles reversed.

According to Nas society can change this if all races learn to coincide and understand each other, because at this point, “America’s starting to look like barbarians.”
